For some reason, I’ve had Chico Love’s remix of Kid Sister stuck in my head. This was originally posted 1,597 days ago on Palms Out via their Remix Sunday project, but I figured it was time for a re-up. The Phoenix remix brings it back too.

We’ve posted on this Dispatch short a couple of times, both to raise money for production and also to call out how excellent everything about it is. Well, almost everything. Ironically, the one thing we didn’t take note of is the score that brings the film to life. The man to thank for that is Mason Thorne, a Columbia graduate who has a penchant for full-bodied soundscapes. You can hear Mason’s work in a couple places: the aforementioned short film or via his TOOM moniker; both of which offer the same quality of composition. Actually, his work reminds me a smidge of the blissfully dark atmosphere that Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor create with their score for The Social Network. Very glitchy and intricate.

Shlohmo does it again. Sit back and escape to the sounds of his latest work; a very dreamy remix of Lianne La Havas‘ “Forget”. It’s hard not to lose yourself in the abyss of Shlohmo’s sound that just drips of woozy feel good chopped vocals and pool playing percussion.

I’m just sitting here listening to these Baauer and DJ Siiikee remixes of Abel‘s “Girls”. The whole release is pretty damn good. It’s also free, so go get it from Astro Nautico’s Bandcamp.

Art for Jam City – Classical Curves LP (AD: Jam City & Sushon, production: Bowyer)
It looks like the UK label Night Slugs are gearing up to dominate all club music this Summer. Fresh off label co-owner L-vis 1990‘s Club Constructions EP, they’re prepping an early May release of another hit by Girl Unit called Club Rez. The title track has been kicking around on Rinse FM and being played by the label fam live at parties. It’s a large one. Moving along to the end of May, Night Slugs plan to put out their 2nd LP by roster visionary Jam City. The guy has a terminator-eque robotic arm so you know it’s going to a be a crazy record.
All of that is to come, but for now enjoy a couple of tracks from the label bosses, check out Bok Bok‘s kickoff to the brand new NSMIX series and just GLIDE.

In case you missed it this past weekend, BK/ CHI duo Flosstradamus were featured on the BBC Radio 1 show Diplo & Friends. You’re probably familiar with the duo’s trap influence by now, but in the instance that you’re not, the next two hours will be a nice crash course for you.
