Weed + Sizzurp

Like most things in the Top 40 world, I’m purposely (or stubbornly) about 2 years behind. I recently discovered that there was a Lil Wayne documentary in existence and decided it was time to learn about the man I so often misunderstood. As it turns out, he’s quite an amazing dude and probably the busiest person alive. Aside from tons of great footage and insight into the world of Wayne, the doc also offers up a listen at tons of unheard tunes.

For me the stand out is a track that’s supposedly called “Damn, Damn” (produced by Tha Bizness), a slow jam that features Lil Wayne in what appears to be a pretty vulnerable state. At the time, I think this was meant to be a solo project, but later got turned into a duo piece with T-Pain. You’ll notice a pretty distinct difference between the video and the mp3 below. Both versions are enjoyable.

In any case, despite the leak earlier this year, I’m hoping this thing gets a proper release some time soon, because even though the water marks are hilarious (IE – “Evil Empire gangsters, they’ll eat your lunch and wrinkle your school clothes”), they can get annoying. And lastly, obviously, if you haven’t yet checked The Carter documentary; you should get on it.

Sidenote: If anyone from the Weezy camp is ready to pull the trigger on a “cease and desist”, please just shoot me an email and I’ll take the link down. No one reads my blog anyway…
