June 28 It was 9am and I was just boarding the train. I had been out all night DJing at an after-party and my ears were ringing but I needed to keep myself awake in order to catch my stop. My iPod, like always, was on shuffle. Scuba‘s track “So You Think You’re Special” crept on and filled my ears. It’s quite a frightening track off of his recently released full-length Triangulation.
Much like the other 11 songs on the record, “So You Think You’re Special” is eerie and dark. Some of them bang and some are just perfect for headphones. It’s dubstep but it’s not mosh pit wobble bass, it’s deeper, more haunting, and more textured.
