Todd The God

Todd the God. Who is that? Todd Edwards, the man is the God in the house music world. Actually, it’s possible that he’s influenced more than just house music, as he was pitching vocals on tracks like Daft Punk’s “Face to Face” long before acts like Burial and Kanye ever came along. His influence is so wide and great that a lot of today’s favored acts might not exist with out him.

Scion must have recognized the man’s talent because they just released a free EP; I Might Be. The single’s highlight is Todd’s own vocals that have been chopped, spliced and made into it’s own, completely new element of the track. Keep in mind all of this is happening on top of some killer bass grooves, fresh pads and a steady kick drum. But enough about how amazing the original is, what about the remixes?

Well, proving that they have a ton of $ and a wise staff, Scion has grabbed up hyped superstars Joy Orbison, Feadz, My Dear Disco and MJ Cole to provide remixes. And while I’m normally rabid for anything Joy Orbison, his remix is out-shined by another legend; MJ Cole. If you want my opinion, the original and MJ Cole are the winners here. Oh yeah and Scion for sponsorship!
