Urchins (UK banger-enthusiast) & Spoek (South African lyricist) recently put out their debut EP, Tickets, on Palms Out Sounds and it’s basically melting my speakers right now. The release features two tasty tracks, “Tickets” and “Belly Dancer”, that you’ve most likely already heard in a rave-like setting somewhere. Honestly, I wasn’t that into “Tickets” as much, even though Blatta & Inesha did a hell of a job on the remix, but I did, however, get quite into “Belly Dancer.”
For me, the highlight of the original “Belly Dancer” was the squelching synth that seemed to be taunting as the track progressed. Not to mention the 8-bit drop around the 3 minute mark. As for Sticky K‘s remix, well, he took it to a whole new, wobbly level. Check those two versions below and cop the other remixes by Blatta & Inesha, Destroy Disco and Kid Kaio over at Beatport.
