Kompakt Records is a huge name in dance music scene, mainly known for their output of minimal techno. Well, co-label owner, Michael Mayer, is starting a fresh new music label called FRIGHT. It’s focus will be “slasher disco” which refers to the 80′s cinematic electronic music like John Carpenter or Goblin. Their first release is a very special release because it’s from Chicago group Gatekeeper. The group is well known in the Chicago area for awe-inspiring live performances and delightfully eclectic DJ sets. The video for the single is a good insight into the groups inner thoughts. It’s also from Tommy Boy of Arawa.FM.

The four track EP is called Optimus Maximus and will be out on Oct. 25th, just in time for your Halloween party.
