One of my favorite records last year was from UK band Metronomy. Nights Out was a big bowl of sugary, frosted synth-pop getting soggy with some nice falsetto vocals. I happily listened to this record five or 6 times driving from Canada into Chicago because my co-pilot fell asleep with the iPod in his lap. Lucky for me they have just released a new EP and it seems like they’ve picked up where they left off. Perfect listening if you’re a fan of stuff like Hot Chip, Discovery, or even the Postal Service. It’s cheesy at times but it’s catchier than the swine flu. French producer, Joakim must have traded remixes with them because he’s remixed “Not Made For Love” from their latest EP while Metronomy remixed “Spiders” from his record Milky Ways.
