Codebreaker is a few dudes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and for some reason the musical output from our Northerly neighbor always surprises me, as I really don’t expect much besides beer and cheese from Milwaukee (both of which are awesome). Agriculture aside, Codebreaker’s latest single “Follow Me” is a bouncy, disco number that sounds more like mid-80′s Italo than anything from the Midwest. But don’t think of these guys as just another bandwagon hopping act, they’ve been pumping out disco-tinged jams as far back as I can remember.
Aside from a stellar original, the release is packed with remixes from The Juan Maclean, Bottin, and The Outrunners. The whole package is available online via music sources like iTunes, Amazon, Juno, and Verizon, but if you want something more I’d run over to Groove Distro and get the limited edition 12″. I promise the whole thing is as good as The Juan Maclean remix, which is somehow very “Chicago house” with it’s pianos and 303 acid-bass squelch.
