Gold Star

With Little Boots and La Roux currently ruling the top ten radio positions in the UK it seems like female fronted indie-esque pop might be the next thing. Maybe because ever since Trainspotting’s scene with Diane singing New Order to Renton I have always enjoyed a strong and beautiful female voice. Meet Ellie Goulding. Her name first popped as a female version of Frankmusic who has, coincidentally, also produced a track for her. However, Frankmusic is sugary sweet and colorful like a bag of Skittles and Goulding is darker and more akin to a Reese Pieces. Frankmusik isn’t the only one who is paying attention, apparently Burial is working with her for his new record. Ellie was recently signed by Neon Gold Records, who have also signed a little band called Passion Pit.  If “Starry Eyed” doesn’t win you over, we have also included the remix by Jakwob, which is a face melting Dubstep-wobble-bass monster. “Starry Eyed” was also featured on last months Grindin‘ Top 15 chart.
