Oh. Shit. Scattermish‘s got a label!
The Scatterblog started off in mid 2006 as a simple blog with a focus on bringing new sounds and genres from around the globe to the wider public – a new forum for sharing unheard music. Circa 2009, The Scatterblog has turned into a highly respected and widely consulted resource for the latest developments in electronic music. Now part of the Grindin blog network (with a combined readership in excess of xxx million) The Scatterblog crew also run highly successful events, touring cutting edge international acts. And have now become a new brand of music label that will distribute releases for free to the general public through the blog.
Scatterblog Music’s first release, Real Music For Hustlers, is a limited edition compilation album featuring a whopping 20+ (mostly new and unreleased) tracks from members of The Scatterblog: Scattermish, Paz, Mu-Gen, Lewis Cancut, Mat Cant, Digital Manges and Slap & Dash. The genre-specifics span a range of club orientated dance music, which take influence from Hip-Hop, Baltimore Club, Electro, Baile-Funk, House, Dubstep, Miami Bass, Kuduro and more. This all comes together to showcase a style of hype, party music unheard of by most.
It’s pretty awesome that blogs are getting to the point where they can start up a record label, I personally don’t know how these cats can find enough hours in a day to make that happen, but shit, if they can then more power to them! Scattermish has been a stellar blog for as long as I can remember and I’m expecting their label to be nothing short of that. Lastly, sorry I’m late on getting the word out about the release party, I’ve been backed up like crazy on music (thanks Grindin‘).
