My guy over at Afternoon Records/ Vitriol Promotions (Ian Anderson of One For The Team) has been feeding me stuff on a pretty constant basis so far this year, but I’ve been a little backed up as of late (sorry about that). In any case, I’ve got some tunage from the newest member of Afternoon Records (Tarltron) and long-time Vitriol client (Kinch).
Kinch released an album early this year called The Economic Chastisement and it’s a pretty good listen, their title track maintains a perfect balance between atmosphere and melody. It feels up-beat but at the same time it carries a kind of underlying sadness that throws you off, it’s confusing my feelings a little. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum is Tarlton with his new melodic-driven jam “Overport”, a single off of his upcoming Papa Thesis EP (expected to be released in March).
I think it’s safe to say that this is going to be a good year for the peeps over at AR + VP.
