“Video Games” is just one of those songs, man. One of those songs that’ll fuck you up if you listen while in the wrong state of mind; the wrong place emotionally. And despite it’s almost overbearing weight, there’s a shadow of sarcasm in Lana Del Rey‘s voice that makes you think she’s just playing antagonist and poking fun at how stale communication between people can get. Maybe that’s the point, maybe I’m reading too much into it, I don’t know. All I know is I dig the vibe and I dig JMLYN‘s remix equally as much.
We posted his “All of Yet” tune late last year and I have to say that I’m really into his style. I don’t want to start spouting off a bunch of stupid sub-sub-sub-genres, but I’ll just say that it’s very “glitchy”. I sound like an idiot, but whatever, take that how you will and stream his LDR interpretation below.
This is the greatest song I have ever heard on Boiler Room. Well maybe not, but “Hold Tite” by Late Nite Tuff Guy, as played by Move D during his encore selection, is pretty much vibes on vibes.
I’m usually only a fair-weather M83 fan (“Outro“, “Lower Your Eyelids…“), but this cover of “Midnight City” by Emil of Emil & Friends is pretty enjoyable. You’re probably well aware of the widely popular original version, but I hope you’ll take a moment to enjoy Emil’s take.

There are a couple of reasons for this Metronomy post:
1. I’ve had their The English Riviera album on hella repeat.
2. I used to play this Mac 3000 remix all the time “back in the day” and it’s still great.

I’m officially on board with the notion that Sliink will be a hot hand in 2012. Check out his Jersey Club remix of Zebra Katz for validation and grab the free Ima Read EP with additional remixes by Slick Shoota, MikeQ & Amex and J-Wow on Soundcloud. Good look, Jefrees.

Check this video that Jerome LOL Boys and Johnny Woods made for a tune off Classixx‘s long anticipated full length (due sometime in 2012). “A Fax From The Beach” seems to be an all around good look.
Arugeably one of the best producers of 2011 and having an even more promising 2012 is the UK’s Boddika. He dropped this track for free and it’s pretty tight.
